Details for Enrolled Students
Registration:
Sunday, June 8th beginning at 3:00PM. The registration desk is located in Austin Hall. The balance of your tuition will be due at this time. Please have your check, with you, upon arrival.
You will receive your morning class assignment, a folder with the necessary information, your room key and building pass. If you are keeping your car on campus, a Parking Pass will be available from the Registrant.
Your evening meal will be furnished on Sunday. The customary Spaghetti Dinner will be held from 5:30 -7:00 p.m., in the Pipe Line. Those parents, spouses, friends who will be bringing the student to school are invited to join everyone for this evening meal.
At 8:00 pm, Sunday night, there will be a meeting with the Instructors.
Classes:
- Cell phones/Pagers must be turned off while you’re in class.
- Dress for the classes is casual.
- Classes will begin on Monday, June 9th at 9:00AM.
- All classrooms are in the Christopher Hall. We begin each day with a general meeting in the Auditorium.
- You will then go to your assigned class until noon.
- Classes will resume at 1:30 to 3:30.
- You may choose your afternoon class for the week at Registration.
- Massed Band Practice is from 3:30 to 4:30, Mon-Wed outside the Liberal Arts/Administration Building. Everyone is to attend.
- Friday, June 13th, classes will end at 11:00AM.
- The Graduation Ceremony will be at 11:30AM, Friday, June 13th.
Meals:
All meals are taken in the Cafeteria, located in the Liberal Arts/Administration Building.
- Breakfast : 7:30-8:30
- Lunch: 11:30-1:30
- Dinner: 5:00-6:00
Please inform the school staff if you have any dietary needs that must be considered.
If you are staying on campus, your meals are included with your tuition. If you are a day student, you are welcome to use the Cafeteria at your own expense.
Each dorm room now has a small microwave and refrigerator. You may consider bringing snack foods and soft drinks with you. Linens are provided and each bed will have one blanket. Feel free to bring an additional blanket if you require.
Important Items to Have With You:

- Drums and Drum Pad
- Drum Sticks
- Notebook, Pen, Pencil
- A voice recorder/tape recorder
- Kilt and Day Wear, or Uniform
- A Beside/Desk lamp
- A fan (dorm rooms are not air conditioned)
- An alarm clock
- Personal toiletry items. (Rooms are not equipped with a hair dryer.)
- Computer flash drive / USB thumb drive
Special Activities:
- Sunday 8:00PM. Meeting with and Introduction to the Instructors.
- Monday evening (time to be announced): This year we’re adding a non-sanctioned, “students only” Solo Competition. Students choosing to take part in this exciting event must enroll using the form available in your mailed registration packet or online. We encourage everyone to participate! Please prepare your musical selection based on the Grade requirements. Our excellent instructors will serve as adjuicators. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 finishers in each category and grade level!
- Wednesday Evening: Student Ceilidh. Bring any instrument you play and feel free to join in the fun!
- Thursday: Immediately following lunch you are to change into your Scottish/Kilt/Band attire for the Class Photo. If you do not have a kilt and day wear, please wear a white shirt, tie and dark trousers.
- Thursday Recital: After dinner we will depart for the ICHC.
- Friday, 11:30: Graduation Ceremony
Piping Recital:
A formal recital will be held on Thursday, June 12th at 7:30PM. This event is located at the
Irish Cultural and Heritage Center.

We appreciate your support of our school!
Admission $8.00 for the public, no advance sales.
Admission to the concert is free for all Milwaukee School of Piping students.
Please wear your name badge for admission.
Transportation will be arranged from the campus to the ICHC. Generally, adult students carpool.
ALL students, under age 18, MUST ride the bus to and from the concert. There are no exceptions.
Rules for Minor Age Students:
- Students 12 and under must be in their room by 10:00PM.
- Students under 18 must be in the dormitory by 11:00PM.
- Students under 18 cannot leave the campus without their parents’ written permission or are accompanied by them. Any time a student leaves campus, with their parent, a staff member (Tom Cobb, John Giese, Ken Eller) must be informed.
- Students under 21 that consume alcoholic beverages will be immediately removed from the Milwaukee School of Piping.
Students Arriving by Air:
Please contact us with the name of the airline, flight number and arrival time. We can arrange for someone to meet you and bring you to the campus.
