Doug MacRae, Senior Instructor

Doug MacRae is from London, Ontario, Canada, and has been piping since the age of nine. The majority of his instructions have been from John and Archie Cairns, and Bill Livingstone. Doug has experienced a successful competitive career as a consistent prize-winner through the ranks. His recent accomplishments include a fourth place finish at the 2003 Midwest Highland Arts Fund Silver Medal Contest and The Pipers' and Pipe Band Society of Ontario Champion Supreme Award for Senior Amateur Piobaireachd. Now living in Houston, Texas, Doug is working as a full-time bagpipe instructor for the World Champion St. Thomas Pipe Band and is a current member of the 78th Fraser Highlanders.
